My first vegetable patio garden is not too shabby! Learned a lot this season. My tomato plant is finally starting to flower and so is my Serrano plant. My strawberry plant is struggling along while my Bibb lettuce and sugar snap peas are thriving. My baby carrots are slowly coming along. I think there’s hope!
This week Obama signed a bill authorizing Monsanto to genetically modify our food for now and the future.
So, our family is going entirely organic. I’m so tired of the government interfering with our rights. My right to good food is a human right. The US government is interfering in human rights.
Right now, I’m anti-Obama. Perhaps I should rip off my Obama bumper sticker!
Just cut my garlic scapes. They taste similar to chives, but more garlic-y. I like them in my ham and swiss sandwiches, in green beans and in my breakfast tacos. I can’t wait to find out what else I like them in!
How do you grow a garlic scape? Plant a lot of fat garlic bulbs in a container and cover with a light layer of dirt. They should be cut off periodically since the garlic won’t grow properly without it.
